This is an advance notice of 2 upcoming road closures – The closure of Highfield Lane is in order to prevent motorists using this lane as a rat run whilst Bristol Waters works/road closure takes place on A368 The Street, Compton Martin.

| Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of A368 The Street, Compton Martin from the point outside the property known as ‘Leamon Cottage’ extending to ‘Court Farm’. | This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to cut off supply by Bristol Water on the 12th August 2023 for a maximum period of 2 days. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for TWO DAYS.

In pursuance of Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that on 12th August 2023, Highfield Lane, Compton Martin shall be closed to all traffic, in the interests of public safety, to enable Bristol Water to cut of a supply on A368 The Street, Compton Martin. As part of these works Highfield Lane will remain closed to through traffic. Access will be maintained for residents only. USRN: 47902567
The road will be closed at Highfield Lane from its junction with the A368 extending for its entire length.
Alternative Route: Diversion to be clearly signed during closure.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
These works will commence on 12th August 2023 and the road closure is anticipated to be required for 2 days. This Notice will have a maximum duration of 2 days.
