As you know we are holding the Lakeside Family Funday , a public engagement event, 9-3 on 20th September at Chew Valley Lake. Most importantly, as well as a FREE fun day out, people will be able to talk to the experts about the route changes to the X91 and 99 and get travel planning advice. Whilst we have done really well in getting people to use the two routes we need to increase footfall on each route to put ourselves in the very best position to be funded after the present grant ends in March 2026. The really good news is that both the X91 and the 99 now serve the Chew Valley Picnic lake 1 bus stop so people can try out a bus on the way to the event, and be rewarded on arrival for doing so!
Finally, as you may already be aware, there is a government funded Youth Guarantee project to support 18-21 year olds get into work (including support for transport costs). Our new buses really open up the opportunities for young people in the area. For more information please see the posters below. We are in discussion with the B&NES Trailblazer scheme officer in the hope that she can also be part of our Lakeside event.
