Recruiting Young Rangers
Our current Young Rangers are coming to the end of their time with us and we are looking for the next group to join us in September. Our Ranger Volunteer Coordinator, Andy Chamberlain, takes a group of 15 youngsters through a two year programme to give them a taste of what it is like to look after a National Landscape.
Andy said, “Our Young Ranger scheme gives young people a powerful mix of confidence, connection, and purpose. By taking part in real conservation work, they build teamwork, leadership, and communication skills while discovering a deeper relationship with nature. The outdoor, hands‑on activities we do support mental and physical wellbeing, offering a positive space away from academic pressures. Young Rangers gain practical experience that helps with future education and career pathways, but just as importantly, they find new friends through working together to protect their local environment.”
If you know a young person starting year 7 or 8 in September (or equivalent for home schooled children) then they can apply. Find out more information on our website: Young Rangers – Now Recruiting! – Mendip Hills National Landscape |
